Cash and Cash Equivalents

Cash and Cash Equivalents refer to the group of assets held by a company that are readily available for use and include currency on hand, demand deposits with banks, and short-term, highly liquid investments that are easily convertible to known amounts of cash and which are subject to an insignificant risk of changes in value, typically with original maturities of three months or less.
