Materiality is a principle in accounting that pertains to the significance of transactions, balances, and errors in the context of financial reporting. It dictates that all financially impactful information that could influence the decision-making process of users should be accurately and completely disclosed, while trivial details that have no bearing on financial decisions may be omitted.
